Plexus realizes the importance of making documents and Information Technology (IT) products accessible for everyone, regardless of physical limitation or disability, and we employ those principles in all software that we develop. Plexus has extensive experience with government agencies and many private industry organizations which has made us aware of the increasing need for accessible IT products within organizations.

 

Plexus got an early start with Section 508 and accessibility services in 2001 when it began working jointly with Adobe and the IRS Alternative Media Center to develop the IRS “Talking Tax Forms” to function Microsoft Active Accessibility (MSAA) compliant screen readers as well as Dragon Naturally Speaking Voice Recognition Software using PDF format as a means of distributing government forms as well as other documents.This was the start of making PDF documents accessible and our work with Adobe resulted in the release of Adobe PDF Forms Access. Our breakthrough accessibility work at the IRS was featured in the September 9, 2002 edition of FCW.com
