Remediation Engineer
The individual will perform both field and office work on hazardous waste site remediation projects, including decontamination/demolition, earthwork, and soil and groundwater treatment. Field duties will include overseeing and documenting project quality control and health and safety conditions; collecting soil, groundwater, air and wastewater samples; tracking remediation quantities; performing calculations and other field engineering tasks. Field work may include both conventional and high hazard (i.e., OE and radioactive) contaminated sites. Office duties will include preparing work plans and reports, tabulating laboratory and other site data, preparing drawings, engineering, and other duties as assigned. Efforts and detect environmental contaminants in the soil and groundwater. The position will be based out of either Columbia, MD or Alexandria, VA - candidate choice. Travel required to client sites, both in the Mid-Atlantic and elsewhere in the US.
Requirements:
Bachelor degree in Engineering required. Construction Management experience or related field experience a plus. 5 + years of environmental experience performing field quality control, site safety & health oversight, field engineering on remediation projects, hands on remediation system operation, remedial process optimization, surfactant enhanced aquifer remediation, chemical oxidation experience, plus preparing work plans and reports. Excellent technical writing skills are essential. P.E. in one or more states is a plus but not required.
